The very top facet of a diamond, the table facet is the largest facet of a diamond cut. Designed to refract the light which enters a diamond, the table percentage refers to the proportion of the top of a diamond the table occupies. A table percentage of 53% – 58% is generally acknowledged to be the ideal proportion for light dispersion and refraction.
