Originally coined to describe any jewellery which has come from a deceased person’s ‘estate’, estate jewellery is now used to describe any jewellery which has been previously owned, regardless of age and origin. Vintage jewellery and antique jewellery are often also categorised as estate jewellery, although each have their own specific criteria for definition.
