Diamond cutting

The process of turning a rough diamond into a faceted stone. Since diamonds are the hardest mineral on earth according to the Moh’s scale, they can only be cut by other diamonds, so traditional diamond cutting uses a diamond saw – a steel saw with an abrasive edge made from diamond. These days, diamonds are often cut using lasers.
