A gemstone setting where the gem is held in place by a piece of metal which completely encircles it. Bezel settings are often used where a stone has a hardness rating of less than 7 on the Mohs Scale as this type of setting is more protective. A bezel setting allows less light to refract through the stone than a claw setting.
