Designed in the 1970s, Barion cuts are really a family of gemstone cuts. Fusing step-cut upper girdle facets (similar to an emerald cut) with brilliant-style lower girdle facets (kites and triangle facets), barion cuts can be identified by the half moon facets directly below the crown. Cut perfectly, the final stone fuses the elegance of the elongated step cuts with the brilliance, fire and scintillation of the brilliant cut.
