A few months ago I was honoured to be invited to join a panel of judges for the UK Jewellery Awards that is organised and hosted by industry magazine Retail Jeweller. I was particularly excited to be judging the ‘catwalk jewellery’ category which included design duo Yunus and Eliza who have created pieces for Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaur’s music Video, Manik Mercian who has created a series of collections for underwear brand Victoria’s Secret consisting of oversized carnival-esq body pieces and Rachel Galley who swooped the prize for her elegant shoulder piece that she wore on the night over an extremely glamorous black dress.
The awards ceremony took place at The Grosvenor House hotel in Mayfair where the industry arrived in their glam for an evening of dinner and dancing. The afternoon before I popped into the Shaun Leane’s head office to choose some jewels for the party. I went straight for the chandelier earrings in gold vermeil and champagne quartz, an absolute favourite from their latest ‘Bound’ collection and so elegant, feminine and sophisticated. I decided to go ring-less (despite feeling naked without any) and focused instead on bracelets so as not to be to bottom-heavy on the arms and detract from the earrings. I wore one on each wrist including this gorgeous gold vermeil Vertebrae bracelet and one pushed further up onto my forearm keeping it minimal and chic.
A big thank you to Shaun Leane for the loan of these stunning pieces.
